An appreciation for the technical education with the contrast of the practical āhands-onā side
Being able to see with multiple lenses to foresee multiple angles of thought to not only tackle problems effectively, but think of the bigger picture
One thing my education taught me, was just because you can fix something to make it work, doesnāt mean itās the correct avenue to approach. Take a step back and think about the bigger picture, down to potentially the crystalline structure of the material you are working with ,to better grasp the issue, cause, and affect.

Project Objective: Auto-Injecting Medical Syringe
Dream it.
Identify the problem: In the medical department at Oakland University, the nurses have issues with certain patients that are unruly or aggressive when giving them their medicine with 7mL and 10mL syringes. Sometimes the nurses get āstuckā with the needles, leading to bigger issues that we were tasked to give a possible avenue for a future solution
Design it.
Lots of market research was conducted to see what currently is available on the market and see what ideas they utilized in their designs. Nothing fit the bill for what was requested for our project of having one device for the two common syringes the nurses use. This created a fun challenging new task to create something totally new.
Build it.
I took it upon myself to lead the assembly and manufacturing of our designs, ideas, prototypes, and final assembly while using my prior prototyping experience. I learned how to use a 3D Printer (Monoprice Duplicatior i3) to allow our group to not have to rely on the provided printing services, which would have slowed down the development process and prototype testing while simultaneously increasing our total project cost. This also allowed our group to test multiple avenues of designs and re-print parts when things inevitably broke during testing.
